After 15 months of genocide against the Palestinian people, Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association welcomes the decision to ceasefire and halt the genocide that has continuously targeted the Palestinian people for 15 months. This atrocity has claimed the lives of thousands of Palestinians and led to the arrest of thousands more during mass detention campaigns carried out by the occupation authorities in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Ramallah - Addameer: The Israeli occupation authorities continue to detain hundreds of Palestinians arrested from the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people. These detainees are held in camps and prisons that lack the most basic standards of human life. Specifically, detainees in Sde Teiman and Ofer military camps and Naqab prison are subjected to extremely harsh conditions, including systematic torture, ill-treatment, and deliberate medical neglect, in blatant violation of all international conventions.

Today, Tuesday, the occupation authorities renewed the administrative detention order for detainee Khalida Jarrar – a human rights and feminist activist, and former member of the Palestinian Legislative Council – for an additional six months. She was arrested on December 26, 2023, and was subjected to an arbitrary administrative detention order for six months, which has since been renewed twice.
